Hello Family.
I'M LEAVING FOR THE PHILIPPINES TODAY! It's kind of hard to imagine, but they tell me it's actually happening- so I think I better believe them. Christmas here was pretty awesome. I'll be honest, it didn't feel like Christmas AT ALL but part of that was really good, because it was centered totally on different things. And I liked that- but very much missed the family. Christmas Eve was so funny, we had a devotional at night and the MTC Presidency spoke to us. During which one of them seperated the entire auditorium into sections and we sang out a 12 days of christmas MTC style song. At first is was kind of strange, but toward the end everyone was screaming and President Smith who is usually really stern started laughing so hard that he started crying. It was so so funny. Doesn't sound like it. But was. Then on Christmas Elder Nelson came! Wow, that man is so so smart. He gave a talk at 2 and then came back for this little Christmas Carol play that these two men put on for us. Then gave a small remark afterwards, then came back on Sunday! But what else for Christmas- the food was pretty bad, haha, but that really can't be helped. Just a lot of packing and study time + I got to start reading the Jesus the Christ- which even the first 15 pages are so good. I'm in Alma 49 right now, so if I can get through Helaman or 3 Nephi by the time I get to the Phillies I'll be so so happy. It takes me forever to get through a chapter though. Oh, also we took so many pictures Christmas Eve and Day, and yesterday- so you'll have a ton of pictures from my friends here at the MTC when I send the Memory Card Home. Yesterday, Elder Nelson spoke to the men in a Priesthood Meeting in the morning, and it was amazing. He spoke about what it means, scriptually, and literally to be an Elder of Israel and his insights were insane. I love takin notez. Anyways, then the rest of yesterday went pretty well and we just had our regular meetings and took pictures with our Branch Presidency and what not. All real good.
Okay: important stuff.
I forgot my planner which has everything I meant to tell you in this email, and my flight plans- so I may write back again in a couple hours. But here's what I remember.
1. THANK YOU BRANDON FOR THE GLASSES. So nice if you and they're awesome. Fit really well. Haha, no one could tell the difference between these and my old ones for a while though. Also- tell him he better start sending me Apple news as soon as he gets it. I heard about the iPad gifts, and I got quite excited. So once again, thank you thank you. And thank you mom for all your packages and everything, they've seriously been so awesome.
2. Yes- I got Courtney's DearElder last week, just forgot to respond. And I was leaving today, so thank you anyway for the food but I'm about to go to a country with amazing fruit and rice finally, and I am so excited for that.
3. Vicky sent me a package! That was so nice of her, and I didn't get her email or addres so please thank her for me.
4. Flight Plans- I leave the MTC 4:30 Utah time, plane leaves SLC for LAX at 8:11 and I think I get into LAX around 9:30'ish? My plane leaves LAX at midnight sooo just do out the time zone differences and that's when I'll be phoning home. I might have a change in SLC for a small convo- and I might have more than just 30 minutes. So maybe expect one at like 7pm utah time and maybe 10pm L.A time. GET EXCITED.
5. I can't remember much more, so I'll probably write another email later on today. Did you all get my package I sent home? Probably not- that sucks, but hopefully it at least comes today.
I really can't believe I'm leaving today, but I'm so excited. I know the language an okay amount- but I know when I get there everything I learned will amount to nothing or at least the first month, haha. Also the heat.. oh my the heat. They say with humidity on most days it feels about 105 - 115. Soo... yeah. hahaha. But I'm so excited, such good spirits, so ready, so stoked, AH!! Can't wait to board that plane. Alright well I'll write home again in a little bit- catch ya later familioooo!
